Welcome! I'm Maggie Matahari. That's a pseudonym, of course, a "nom de Dell" if you will. No one would really name their child that. The names on this blog have been changed to protect the innocent. I don't care about the guilty, so I will be providing first and last names for them, along with any applicable titles.
Let's see, about me. I started blogging several years ago, when I was fresh out of law school and single. Now I'm married, have a 7-month-old, and have quit my job to stay at home with him. I also teach a night class.
As per James Lipton (if you don't watch Inside the Actor's Studio, you need to start - especially if pretention makes you giggle) I will end with the questionnaire popularized by Bernard Pivot:
1. What is your favorite word? Pot roast (okay, two words). It makes me think of Sunday lunch when I was little. We would walk in the door after church, my mom would have a roast in the crockpot, and the whole house would smell like onions and gravy.
2. What is your least favorite word? Maybe. Drives me nuts. Simple yes or no, people.
3. What turns you on? People who are deep thinkers, but not afraid to laugh at themselves.
4. What turns you off? Political correctness, "tolerance," whatever the heck you want to call it. What happened to the time when we could just recognize differences and celebrate them, instead of trying to pretend that everyone's the same.
5. What sound do you love? When my baby belly laughs because of something I did.
6. What sound do you hate? The doorbell when I have no pants on.
7. Favorite curse word? Shoot a monkey. Takes a lot of time to say, so you get out a lot of emotion.
8. What profession would you like to try? writer or chef.
9. What profession would you not like to try? Accountant.
10. What would you like to hear God say when you get to Heaven? "Now we can get this party CRUNK!"
